Hot New LeBron James wants his son Bronny in the NBA as soon as possible

Even though we’ve known this for a while, LeBron James definitely wants to possibly play alongside his son Bronny in the NBA. The kid is currently a junior in high school and he won’t be able to make it to the NBA until 2024, as per the NBA’s current rules. That means LeBron James will have to wait until he is at least 40 years old if he wants to make his biggest dream happen. There have been countless examples of how proud LeBron James is of all his children, but he does have a special interaction with his sons with regards to basketball. The oldest, Bronny James is especially talented and many already place him as a strong NBA prospectwhen his time comes.

James repeatedly stated how much he wants his older son to make it in time before he retires. When the current season started, criticism against LeBron James for his veteran status began getting traction, especially due tothe Lakers’ lack of good results. But in recent weeks, the ‘King’ has even been added to the MVP conversation and many believe he still has a lot of fuel in the tank. Should he continue like this, there’s no reason not to think he can keep playing at the highest level for another three seasons before Bronny gets to the league.

In a recent interview with wife Savannah James, the couple was asked about what they want for their oldest son’s future. While the youngster’s mother limited herself to say that all she wanted was for Bronny to be happy, LeBron couldn’t help himself. It’s pretty evident that he is aching for some NBA action next to his older son. “I wannt him to get to the NBA,” said LeBron while his wife laughed. I’m not even gonna lie, I wanna be on the court with him. I think that would be an unbelievable moment. He’s about to be a junior but it can get close. We shall see but I want him to make it to the NBA.

As LeBron James moves through the latter portion of his career, it’s pushed more of the spotlight on his son, Bronny James’ basketball  future.

Bronny is in his sophomore year of high school, with aspirations to continue his journey through to the professional ranks. With that potential possibility floating around ahead, LeBron recently expressed again that he is hoping to play on an NBA court together against his son.

“I want him to get to the NBA,” James said. “I’m not even gonna lie. I want to be on the court with him. I think that would an unbelievable moment.”

The younger James is lined up to be part of the 2023 high school class. He’s already receiving interest from Duke, UCLA, North Carolina, and Kansas. Kentucky is the only school so far to offer him a scholarship. At this juncture, he must spend at least one year after high school before leaping to the NBA.

Bronny could go the route of attempting to play in the G-League for a season before declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft. He possesses plenty of time to decide as he will have several options available. If he can continue to progress in his development, he will have every opportunity to get to the next level.

Meanwhile, it’s quite clear that his father is doing everything in his power to give himself to become the first NBA player chance to play with or against their son in a game.

It isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last instance that LeBron will discuss the possibility of playing in the NBA with his son.

As Bronny has progressed in his basketball career in grade school, it’s continued to garner more of his father’s attention. Last year, the Lakers star voiced that it is one of his long-term goals ahead in his first-ballot Hall of Fame career.

“That’s definitely one of my goals, but that’s a long-term goal,” James said via Mark Medina of USA TODAY Sports, emphasizing that his son’s professional career is still a ways off. “My son right now is in high school and enjoying what being a teenager is all about. But that would be pretty cool to go on my resume.”

The question will become how that would unfold as the 37-year-old’s contract with the Lakers runs through the 2022-23 campaign. He will enter free agency ahead of his 21st season, but he’s previously expressed that he wants to play the rest of his career with Los Angeles.

Much still needs to unfold ahead on both ends as LeBron must stay healthy while Bronny must continue his ascension. The dream scenario is definitely there; it’s only a matter of it coming to fruition.
