While we've known this for a while, LeBron James definitely wants to be able to play alongside his son Bronny in the NBA. The boy is currently a middle school student and he won't be able to make it to the NBA until 2024, according to current NBA rules. That means LeBron James will have to wait until at least 40 if he wants to make his biggest dream come true. There have been countless examples of how proud LeBron James is for all of his children, but he has one particular interaction with his sons that involves basketball. The oldest, Bronny James was exceptionally talented and many ranked him as a strong NBA prospect when his time came.

James repeatedly says how much he wants his eldest son to be able to finish in time before he retires. As the current season began, criticism directed at LeBron James for his veteran status began to gain traction, especially due to the Lakers' lack of results. But in recent weeks, 'King' has even been added to the MVP chat and many believe he still has plenty of fuel left in the tank. If he continues like that, there's no reason not to think he can continue to play at the highest level for three more seasons before Bronny takes to the league.

In a recent interview with wife Savannah James, the couple were asked what they wanted for their eldest son's future. While the youngster's mother restrains herself saying all she wants is for Bronny to be happy, LeBron can't help herself. It's clear he's having a headache with some NBA action alongside his eldest son. "I hope he goes to the NBA," LeBron said while his wife laughed. I won't even lie, I want to be on the field with him. I think it will be an unbelievable moment. He's about to become a junior but it can come close. We'll see but I want him in the NBA.

As LeBron James entered the final phase of his career, it made his son even more interested in Bronny James' basketball future.

Bronny is in his sophomore year of high school, with aspirations to continue his journey to the professional ranks. With potential floating ahead, LeBron recently expressed yet again that he hopes to play in the NBA together against his son.

"I want him to go to the NBA," James said. “I wouldn't even lie. I want to be on the field with him. I think it will be an unbelievable moment.”

The younger James is lined up to be part of the high school class of 2023. He has received interest from Duke, UCLA, North Carolina and Kansas. Kentucky is the only school to date that has offered him a scholarship. At this point, he had to spend at least a year after graduating from high school before jumping into the NBA.

Bronny could continue down the path of trying to play in the G-League for a season before announcing his participation in the 2024 NBA Draft. He has plenty of time to decide as he will have several options available. If he can continue to progress in his development, he will have every chance to get to the next level.

Meanwhile, it's clear that his dad is doing everything in his power to make himself the first NBA player to get the chance to play with or against their son at a game.

This is not the first time, nor the last time LeBron discussed the possibility of playing in the NBA with his son.

As Bronny progressed in his basketball career in high school, it continued to attract more of his father's attention. Last year, the Lakers star made it clear that it was one of his long-term goals in the first Hall of Fame of his career.

"It's definitely one of my goals, but it's a long-term goal," James said via USA TODAY Sports' Mark Medina, emphasizing that his son's professional career still has a long way to go. “My son is currently in high school and enjoying what a teenager is. But that would be pretty cool if I went into the resume. ”

The question becomes how that will play out as the 37-year-old's contract with the Lakers runs through the end of the 2022-23 campaign. He will join the agency freely before his 21st season, but he has previously expressed that he wants to play the rest of his career with Los Angeles.

Much remains to be opened up at both ends as LeBron must stay healthy while Bronny must continue his ascension. The dream scenario is definitely there; it's just a matter of its coming to fruition.
